terms & conditions

Last updated: June 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

VAST (Vinyl Atlas Store Tracer) is operated by Catalog Music Pty Ltd("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You confirm you have the authority to enter into this agreement and are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

2. The service

VAST is a directory and map of record stores worldwide. Paid plans unlock additional features such as enhanced submissions and listing tools.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including:

  • Any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity (including spam).
  • Infringing intellectual property or other rights of others.
  • Interfering with security (malware, probing, scraping, reverse engineering).
  • Reselling or redistributing the service without permission.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for activity under your account credentials.

4. Intellectual property

All software, design, branding, and content of the service (excluding user-submitted content) is owned by Catalog Music Pty Ltd. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your selected plan. You retain rights to content you submit and grant us a limited licence to host and display it to operate the service.

5. Service availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose.

6. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of acceptable use. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends; you may request an export of your data within a reasonable period before deletion.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill). Nothing limits liability where it cannot be excluded by law (e.g. fraud or personal injury). You agree to indemnify us for claims arising from your content, unlawful use, or breach of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign without our consent. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond their reasonable control.
