THE 33 RECORD SHOPS
Nashville still presses more records than most countries.
Nashville is the closest thing the US has to a working music company town — and the record ecosystem shows it. Four active pressing plants (United Record Pressing among them) still stamp a huge share of the country's vinyl here. Grimey's on 8th Ave, The Groove in East Nashville, Third Man Records on 7th Ave South, Fond Object and Vinyl Tap complete the essentials.
The dig runs country, blues, soul, gospel, rock and Americana — with local historic pressings that rarely leave Tennessee. East Nashville is walkable; the rest is a short drive. The Basement East and Exit/In handle the night listening; Third Man's blue room stays open late.
