THE 2 RECORD SHOPS
Lima keeps Peru's grail: chicha, cumbia amazónica, rock peruano.
Lima's record scene is small but the catalogue is essential. Miraflores and Barranco carry the shops — Big Bang Records, Discos Perú, Nuevos Aires — trading in one of the world's grail crates: Peruvian chicha, cumbia amazónica, rock peruano (Traffic Sound, Los Saicos, Los Shain's) and Afro-Peruvian folklore.
Local pressings from the 60s and 70s still surface at prices that seem impossible to European or North American collectors. Compact, walkable, warm every day. The record fairs are the essential day of the year to dig here.

Curated small shop — jazz, ambient, Latin American reissues, contemporary Peruvian pressings.
Books-and-records — the Miraflores institution with a curated Peruvian catalogue.
The seasonal fair — the essential day of the year for collectors flying in for Peruvian grail.
